I feel a podiatry residency
is meaningless when it
comes to determining if
a podiatric procedure was
propperly performed if the
podiatric residency
program that was
completed was not
current and was outdated
especially if completed
more than 10 years ago.
I feel a video tape of a
podiatric surgical
procedure in a hospital OR
is a lot more important in
terms of evidence if
podiatric malpractice did
or did not occur than any
surgical podiatric board
certification or training or
other credentialing a
podiatrist may or may not
have. This gives every
podiatrist without
"propper credentialing
training or board
certification" to be on a
more equal footing in
podiatric malpractice
cases when it comes to
determine if podiatric
malpractice did or did not
occur. This would allow
hospital credentialing
committees to stop
discriminating against
podiatrists with photos or
videotapes of them
currently performing the
very surgical procedures
they are requesting
butlack the formal
podiatric credentials such
as outdated podiatric
residency training and
possible board
certification that was not
recertified and only self
assessed.” These and
similar personal opinions
have already been posted
on other websites I set

that consultation with a

regarding before relying

My personal opinions: Warning not to rely upon podiatric residency training
that may possibly be outdated. Also if a podiatrist has been board certified more
than 10 years why not ask ask if the current board certification is due to
recertification by peers or by self assessment exam.
Foot Physician Podiatrist is a term that I believe can be used in New Jersey
but cannot be used in New York.
My personal opinion is , if a
podiatrists residency training
is more than 10 years old and
if it is outdated, why should
hospitals, state licensure
boards rely upon such
outdated credentials that
possibly do not relate to a
podiatrist's current
competence?
For all podiatrists wanting to
help set up a national
organization whose mission will
be to prevent unfair
discrimination of state
legislature against currently
competent podiatrists who are
not residency trained please

disclaimer: This idea of setting up a national organization of podiatrists
is only an idea and I need advice from other podiatrists giving their
opinions on how to go about setting up such a non profit organization.
Do not rely on any information on this website but consult with a
licensed healthcare attorney in your state.
In New York a podiatrist is not recognized as a "physician" under state law.
